Spring Forest Qigong has pursued this goal since 1995 with two main paths: Teaching people how to heal themselves, and teaching people how to heal others.
We are the parents whose children have died. We are the siblings whose brothers and sisters no longer walk with us through life. We are the grandparents who have buried grandchildren.
There is no single cause to suicide. It most often occurs when stressors exceed current coping abilities of someone suffering from a mental health condition.
JED is a nonprofit that protects emotional health and prevents suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults. We’re partnering with high schools and colleges to strengthen their mental health, substance misuse, and suicide prevention programs and systems. We’re equipping teens and young adults with the skills and knowledge to help themselves and each other. We’re encouraging community awareness, understanding and action for young adult mental health.
The mission of The Compassionate Friends: When a child dies, at any age, the family suffers intense pain and may feel hopeless and isolated. The Compassionate Friends provides highly personal comfort, hope, and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or a daughter, a brother or a sister, or a grandchild, and helps others better assist the grieving family.
Healing Hearts Connection serves families who are devastated by the death of a loved one. Families who struggle with feelings of fear, regret, and disconnection. Their isolation is broken by joining with other traumatized families who are experiencing the same heartache. Together in the safe and compassionate setting of Hearts of Hope Family Grief Camps, families make deep connections that provide support and understanding. Isolation is replaced with connection.
Brighter Days Family Grief Center is an unparalleled "family-focused" grief center serving Minnesota families. They are the only nonprofit Family Grief Center in Minnesota providing free grief support resources, programs, and services for children, young adults, and adults who are grieving the terminal diagnosis or death of a beloved family member. They believe that every family member must have compassionate and comprehensive support in order to heal together.

The Mourning's Light: Life after Child Loss is a memoir of a woman who was born into a grieving family. Her journey of understanding how grief impacted her family began after she experienced an epiphany - the epiphany that her brother's soul was reborn through her birth. This is the story of her parents and many others who experienced the death of a child, where the roller-coaster of emotions ranging from anger to guilt to depression never fully goes away. The author shares the wisdom gained from these families and how the overriding theme of faith is a key in moving forward in having a fulfilling life after the death of a loved one.
In this book, Kessler gives readers a roadmap to remembering those who have died with more love than pain; he shows us how to move forward in a way that honors our loved ones. Kessler’s insight is both professional and intensely personal. His journey with grief began when, as a child, he witnessed a mass shooting at the same time his mother was dying. For most of his life, Kessler taught physicians, nurses, counselors, police, and first responders about end of life, trauma, and grief, as well as leading talks and retreats for those experiencing grief. Despite his knowledge, his life was upended by the sudden death of his twenty-one-year-old son.

In The Grieving Brain, neuroscientist and psychologist Mary-Frances O’Connor, PhD, gives us a fascinating new window into one of the hallmark experiences of being human. O’Connor has devoted decades to researching the effects of grief on the brain, and in this book, she makes cutting-edge neuroscience accessible through her contagious enthusiasm, and guides us through how we encode love and grief. With love, our neurons help us form attachments to others; but, with loss, our brain must come to terms with where our loved ones went, or how to imagine a future that encompasses their absence.
